For still selling a six-speed minivan in Canada. No idea what the sales figures are like, but they probably aren’t great. Oh well.

& VW for selling the Tiguan with a 6spd in the base model. USA does not get a manual Tiguan.

I don’t get how Mazda has the balls to do that and be like low sales be damned, but BMW called it quits for the manual 428i Gran Coupe just after one friggin model year that wasn’t even complete.

Sliding doors are better for family vehicles, in my opinion. Much more difficult to swing one open and damage another vehicle.
And the stick is only available on the five-seater, not the seven seater.

but the mazda has sliding doors. Sliding doors are better then hinged doors.

Yeah, absolutely. Although I did rant a few days ago about a six-speed not being available on the Alltrack (and the Alltrack in general in Canada).

Overall sales figures for the Mazda5 are pretty low.
Manual must be abysmal.
I wonder what they will do with that vehicle; it’s pretty good, but it really needs an update now.

They are killing the manual Tiguan for 2017. On autotrader there is one new manual tiguan in all of Canada, and they want $27k. For that price there are so many better options.

I still love the Nagare styling, and I am sad the 5 was the only car to get the full Nagare treatment.

I blame the dealers, partly. Custom orders are pretty much frowned upon (yes, for a luxury brand), it’s pick something on the lot, pay the price we ask or take a hike. And of course everything on the lot is the 8AT ZF slushbox.

I adore that thing, much better looking 3 series but I always thought they were auto only since introduction.

Yup. Option code ZMA, standard on the 428i RWD. Following year they got rid of RWD completely. Would’ve leased that for 2017 instead of getting my used F30.

Yeah... it doesn’t sell well because for the same money, you can get a Dodge Grand Caravan CVP for the same money.
Though if it was me, I’d get the Mazda 5 because while the Dodge looks better on paper, the Mazda 5 is likely to have fewer issues... assuming they fixed the premature rust problem that they had bad in the mid 2000s.
